Six Fun Photography Projects to Keep It Fresh
Most of us have times when we have run out of ideas. Clicking the same kind of images might get stale! Listed below are six fun photography ideas/projects which can help you stay creative and fresh:
1. Go for a Photowalk
Photowalks are gaining popularity worldwide. It’s a great way of improving your photography skills and creativity. Wikipedia defines photowalking as, “the act of walking with a camera for the main purpose of taking pictures of things that the photographer may find interesting”. Next time you are bored and don’t know what to do, go take a walk on the street, park, or anywhere you like and you will sure find many interesting things to photograph. Generally photowalks are done in groups. So, the next thing would be joining a photography club or group.
2. Join a Photography Group
This is a great way of meeting people with the same passion for photography as you. There are many online photography groups on websites like Flickr that you can join to share your photographs and ideas with other people. Joining a photography club/group is also a great way of improving your skills and talent.

3. Self Portraits
This is another fun way to improve your skills. It does not only help you get creative, but also helps improve how to focus properly. You can always take your image in a mirror or other reflective objects. Other methods are using a tripod or a remote shutter release, keeping the camera on flat surface and setting the timer, or simply stretching your hand to click.

4. The Faceless Project
They say, “Eyes are the window to the soul”. Well, how about clicking photographs with this window closed? The body language of a person can say a great deal about that person. Try to shoot portraits without showing the face of your subject. Try to show the expressions, emotions, feelings and the personality of the subject without showing the face. This can be done by taking an environmental shot of the person.

5. Photographing in The Kitchen
The kitchen in your house can be great subject for photography. Next time you are in your kitchen, look at the ideas and subjects that you can photograph. Food, of course, makes a great subject, but the utensils can also be wonderful. Try shooting the utensils lined up neatly in the rack or individually from different angles and different concepts.

6. Photographing The Alphabet
This can be a very interesting photography idea. If you look around you, you will notice that some of the objects around you shaped like the letters of the alphabet. For example, the handle of a tea-cup looks like a ‘C’. You can click a series of photographs starting from ‘A’ all the way to ‘Z’. Some of the letters will be very easy to find, while others might be more challenging. But don’t give up. It’s a fun project which will help you improve your observation skills, which is one of the most important aspects of taking unique photographs.
